Functional Tester is one of the reliable automation tools that provides support to automate the mainframe application testing process. The Functional Tester connects to the application server through the Functional Tester Extension for Terminal-Based Application. The extension configuration for server connection was a manual process until now.

The extension configuration for server connection has been enhanced now and you can import the server certificate and the configuration settings by using a user-friendly wizard. The steps for importing the server certificate is available at the product help center.

Additionally, the connection logging capability has been enhanced to help users with connection troubleshooting techniques.

If there are server connection issues, you can start the terminal on the command prompt by using the command similar to the following:
Code Editor

An easier way to derive this command is to open the Application Configuration Tool in Functional Tester and copy the values from the Path and Args fields to get an exact path of Java.exe and classpath values.

The user can then analyze the transport log information in the outputv2.txt file. If there is no interpretable information, users can contact the support with this log file for further analysis. The sample traces are provided in the screenshot.
