We have recently updated our Testing Portfolio to version 9.2.0.1.  This release contains a number of fixes and enhancements.  We’ve provided a summary below; if you’re interested in finding out more, please take a look at our release notes:

Read about the new features and enhancements in this release

Functional Tester
  • Web UI tests can now be run through Jenkins, Apache ANT, and IBM UrbanCode Deploy without administrative/root privileges.  This removes a limitation where Web UI tests could not be executed on the Chrome browser on Linux and Mac OS.
  • The size of Web UI tests can now be greatly reduced by removing snapshots and hierarchies that are included with each test step.  When needed, our Guided Healing tools can be used to recover snapshots and hierarchies.
  • For users of the Perfecto platform, we have integrated the Perfecto Lab plugin, allowing rapid creation of Appium mobile tests.  Once created, the Appium mobile tests can be executed locally as well as on the Perfecto Device Cloud.
  • Our SAP support has been updated to include SAP GUI 7.5
Performance Tester
  • Users can now include tests using encrypted datapools for unattended execution in any of the supported “headless” test automation frameworks (command line, Jenkins, Apache Ant, IBM UrbanCode Deploy) by choosing an option to selectively activate secure storage of encrypted data passwords.
  • A Rate Schedule can now be run using standard VT Pack licenses in addition to PVU-based licenses, so the purchase of Rational Performance Test Server is no longer required to run Rate Schedules, even if tests from Rational Integration Tester are included.
Integration Tester
  • Test results for API tests can now be published to the same Unified Reporting dashboard that is already used for functional and performance tests.  This gives cross-functional teams the ability to see the status of their testing across multiple disciplines.

In addition to the above, the Unified Reporting dashboards used by all of our products can now be accessed by a set of REST APIs, making access to test reports even more flexible.  All products have also received defect fixes and security updates.

The update is currently available, so please download it and give it a try.  If you’d like to share your feedback, we’d love to see you contribute that feedback in the comments section below.
